What Are People Spending Their Money on This Halloween

What can we say? Americans simply love Halloween! We love it so much that Halloween spending is expected to reach $9 billion, according to the National Retail Federation’s latest Annual Halloween Spending Survey. NRF has conducted the annual survey for the past 14 years and the spending figure has continued to rise. Americans celebrating Halloween will each spend an average of $86.79 to prepare for the holiday.

One of the biggest trends seen on Halloween spending is on pet costumes, particularly by the millennial crowd (those who are 25-34). Other areas Americans will continue to spend on for Halloween include candy, decorations and greeting cards.
