Petition Created to Permanently Move Halloween to the Final Saturday of October

There are some changes about to happen in the White House, as we all know, but one of them is surely not something anyone expected. A user named J.K. on the petition section of whitehouse.gov, has asked that Halloween be moved from October 31st to the final Saturday in October… every year.

The reason being is so that children do not have to be up late trick-or-treating on a school night, and that it is celebrated the same way Thanksgiving is, falling on the final Thursday of November.

We understand people wanting to enjoy a Halloween weekend, but the holiday is usually already celebrated for a couple of days, anyway. So far, 2,032 people have signed the petition, out of the 100,000 goal.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Halloween should remain celebrated on October 31st? Or should it be moved to the final Saturday in October?
