Take Horizontal Photos
By taking photos this way, you will be able to capture a wider range of the gorgeous scenery. Horizontal photos look really nice on social media as well!

Get Creative with Angles
Instead of always taking a photo straight on, mess around with various angles to capture different views. For example, if there’s a pile of leaves in front of you, kneel down and take a photo from the ground or hold your camera above you and take a shot from up above!

Lighting
Know when to use your camera flash and when to allow the sunlight to take over. Play around with it a bit, and don’t be afraid to mess up, sometimes accidental photos end up being the greatest of them all!

Time of Day
If you’re able to take photos during sunrise or sunset, the sky will make for an absolutely beautiful background. If it’s a rainy day or a storm is rolling in, this is also an ideal time to get some cool shots of the “calm before the storm” or the raindrops sitting atop the leaves!

Capture a Time Lapse
A creative way to catch the Fall Foliage at its best is by creating a time lapse. Try taking a photo of the same spot everyday for a month or so. This spot could be a tree in your backyard that blooms beautifully each year or a group of trees at a nearby park. Once you’ve taken your last photo, you’ll get to witness the leaves slowly changing color all over again!

Use the Nature Surrounding You
Take advantage of the nature around you during the Fall time and use items such as leaves, acorns, pine cones, and trees to add a festive touch to your photos.
